I am new the 24 valve... ... . previously had a 12er... ... where is my tps located... ... . i am trying to test it... ... ..... ???

You dont have a TPS you have a APPS (accelerator pedal position sensor). This was done by the TG (truck group) at DC (damlierchrysler) at the AZPG (Arizona Proving Grounds) at the direction of the CEO of DC to the CE (chief engineer) of the TG following the introduction of the HO ISB for the BR/BE truck line. :p



Seriously it in now mounted on the VP-44 under the black plastic cover and is called APPS.

Let me ask you something, or anyone who reads this... ... ... My truck has started shifting constantly... ..... if i have overdrive off... . it will shift back and forth between 2nd and 3rd... . if overdrive is on, it will shift back and forth between 3rd and forth, a continuous cycle... ... ... If it is the APPS... . wouldn't I get a check engine light? Had a transmission shop tell me it sounds like one of the electrical solenoids on the valve body... ... . He asked if I could bring it back tomorrow in the morning, and we wold hook up his scan tool and drive around and see what codes it would show him... . Any opinions on what could be going on? Thanks

The "God" of auto transmissions is Bill K. He is all knowing about these things. I dont have an auto so I have no advice; there is a TSB for some sort of 3 to 4 shift problem and a TSB to eliminate the "torque management" i. e. , power reduction that was programmed in the ECM or PCM or JTEC ECU or whatever it is called this week. I suggest talking to Bill K first, I dont think it is a APPS problem.
