Okay, so sometimes I ask really dumb questions. But, I gotta learn, Right?????

I need to pull my speedo gear to count the teeth, then get one with 2 additional teeth so I can adjust my speedometer for larger tire size.

Thanks guys, Please no smart remarks. I get enough from the wife, she thinks this truck has some strange power of possesion over me.

When re-installing the assembly there are 3 wrong ways to do it and 1 right way. On the barrel of the gear housing there are some numbers that are next to each locating notch where you put the retainer clamp, the numbers match up to the tooth count on the gear. I dont remember the index pointer to the numbers so mark your assemblys position so when you pull it you can see what numbers match your existing gear and make sure the new gears numbers are indexed to the same spot

When you go larger on the tire size you need to go less teeth on the speedo gear.

I went from 245/75R16's to 285/75R16's and had to get a gear with less teeth.
