I looked when it was kind of dark out but I had no luck... . Anybody have a pic?

Read Piers #10 and 3KGSK thread to understand everything

I just installed the plate and springs and I am only running 24-25 pounds of boost. Plate is slid just a little over 1/2

Thanks I would like to try it tonight. Also what should I bumb the boost up to?

Thanks I found it

Problem is it will not move, tighter than hell and I do not want to strip it out or break the wrench... . How tight have yours been??

I am pulling on it hard enough to flex the wrench

Try this

Boondock, try just clamping shut the rubber line to the wastegate. Then go for a test drive. At your altitude and fueling level you may not get to the same boost levels as other trucks at lower altitudes.

I don't recommend leaving the line clamped or blocked, this is just to see if you can get more boost. Then adjust the boost elbow to a few PSI less than you obtained with the line clamped shut.

To get the allen head plug loose, you may need to remove the elbow and clamp it in a vise and gently heat the plug till you can get it to move. Don't tighten it so much that nothing can get through, or you might as well just solder the end shut.

There is a good reason for having the wastegate working; once you reach a high boost level, the turbo has to spin way above it's design limits to create more boost. Even the smaller turbos can be oversped and shorten their life. [read: blow up]. And letting some exhaust past the turbo's exhaust housing reduces drive pressure [exhaust backpressure], and this should net more HP.

Hope this helps, Greg L
