Here I am

Where is the Moderators forum??

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

been kinda quiet....

Fresh emails

I see that the topic Leaving the TDR was moved to the Moderators forum. Maybe I am blind, but where is this forum?? Is it called something else??

You might as well delete the thread then. Unless you allow others to view it. Do threads get posts while in the moderators forum? What is the point of putting something in the moderators forum, unless it is a polite way of saying this thread is locked and its contents are too sensitive to be viewed by members? I am not upset or being snotty, I just want to figure the reasoning behind the moderators forum.

The moderators forum is where the moderators discuss situations and how we should handle them. It's also where we move threads that we want to take off of the boards. Robin left the redirect on that thread to try to avoid the "where did the thread go" questions.

Andrew,

You didn't miss much.

Just imagine a "normal" ATS vs DTT thread, remove the words "auto transmission", and insert the words "gun control".

Only difference on this one is "nobody died" ... ... ..... yet:rolleyes:

Threads Moved To Moderators Forum

There are really only three reasons a thread gets moved to the moderator's forum.

1. If it looks like it is getting too hot to handle and needs to be reviewed, but it is too long to sit and review on screen, I will sometimes temporarily move a thread to the Moderators Forum. It almost always gets moved back with any edits so noted.

2. If the thread went so far south that it was either an embarassment to the TDR members or contains any form of threat - implied/in fun/etc. Fortunately, that doesn't happen very often.

3. The post contains nudity/extreme vulgarity/etc. These are not representative of the TDR membership overall. I think I've only moved one thread for this reason. Most can just be edited and left on the website.

Does this help clear things up?

Yep, except that I left my email for all to see and comment on and I never received any threats or off colored emails. Did the ones who complained that they were being picked on really get some threats via email, or was this just their way of stirring some more crud up before leaving??? If there were legitamate threats or nastygrams please let the readers know that they had a legitimate gripe. I feel that it was a big smoke screen to take the heat off of themselves.

I have no problems having a thread erased, if it is becoming violent and abusive. Why couldnt those posts just be edited by the moderators, as in the past, so the thread can stay alive and intellectual converations be continued?

I am not saying any of my threads have any intellectual value to them, I will leave those kinds of threads to Doc Tinker. :) :)
