I have 220,000 miles on my truck and it never used oil. the p-7100 had some messy oil leaks so I up graded my pump. I asked the shop if I needed to replace the lifter cover gaskets he said there not leaking. I use about a quart every 500 miles and don't know where it's going. What could it be?

If it's not running onto the ground, it's being burned in the cylinders. 220K trucks are normal to use a little oil, but 1 qt per 500 miles seems excessive. Just to clarify, are you sure it isn't running onto the ground? What about the blowby tube? If it isn't either one of those and you don't have oil in the coolant or trans, then it's burning.

It maybe leaves a drop about the size of a quarter on the ground at night and the under side of truck looks fairly dry around the blow by tube. It just seem odd that it would just start using so much oil all so quickly after the pump being changed. Could it be going threw the turbo I had that problem on a Ford I had?

Take the oil filler cap off, and tie a cloth over it to keep dirt & crud out. See if that makes a difference. If that 'fixes' it, you have a lot of blow-by, which is not unexpected in an engine with over 200K miles on it.

Mine was using a quart every 500 miles (over 200K on it). Once I relieved the crankcase pressure, the oil resumed returning to the pan, and oil consumption returned to something more reasonable (a quart every 2000-3000 miles). I now have some redneck PVC plumbing on the filler cap to keep most water, dirt and crud out of the oil pan. Someday I'll pull the engine and freshen it.

Something you might check. The blow-by tube comes out by the P7100 pump. You should check and make sure they didn't pinch it or plug it somehow. Blow in it and it should flow like an open hose. If not there's something wrong.
