Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Where is the oil sending unit?

I was told it is on the intake side but I can't find it!

That is correct it is a bear to see I do it by feel. Look behind the motor mount and in front of the lift pump.

BOB, does this look like the right replacement part?

Looks like the one I put on my 99. It had a 1 1/4(I think) socket to remove it because I did have one in my set and bought one. Lost the reading on the gauge right?

Looks good from here. The size is unique it is a special hex with rounded off corners. Many brands use this configuration for oil senders,
