Can anyone tell me where the outside air temp sensor is located. Mine has worked fine up until last week. It must be getting a reading off the engine. After driving for 10 or 15 min it now reads over 110 F.

I assume it somewhere behind the front grill, but I'm not sure where it is or what it looks like. Any help is appreciated

It's about 3-4'' below the left edge (towards truck center) of your driver's side headlight on the radiator support, made out of black plastic with one bolt attaching it. A little hard to spot.

My 97 would do fine until engine temp came up, then always read too hot. It was catching "prop wash" from the fan. All I did was relocate straight up from it's original location. I pulled it up to the end of the slack in it's wire, and re-attatched it about 5-6" above it's original spot. It's deadly accurate now. Dealer couldn't offer any advice, but they did give me another sensor, which I tried, but it too read high until I relocated it.

Thanks I will look at it tonight. Maybe I am getting the "prop wash" also, Kinda strange for it to just start happening though. maybe the bolt holding it came loose or something.

Thanks for the reply's!

You might be getting moisture in the connection up front. Clean it up and apply silicone di-electric grease from the auto parts to the ends before plugging it back together. Moisture will make it read high.
