Where the heck is the Front Skid Plate?

I was just at the dealer looking at a few trucks and I noticed that the front end of a Ram with the Snow Plow Prep Group was identical to the ones without it. Am I missing something here, or is Dodge charging for a Front Skid with the SPPG and not adding it? If someone has a pic of what the factory Front Skid Plate looks like, please send it my way as I had ordered with the Snow Plow Prep Group just to get the front skid plate.

Is that supposed to be new for 04? My 03 came w/ the transfer case skid as part of the plow package. I don't see where they could put a front skid on the SFA front end anyhow. Maybe it's 1500 thing?

The transfer case skid comes with the Protection group. The Front skid comes with the Snow Plow Prep Group and it's nothing new for '04, the '03 packages were the same. But for 2004. 5, the Protection group will include a gas tank skid also.



It's also very easy to install a front Skid plate on a vehicle with a Solid Front Axle. Take a look at any Jeep, other then the Liberty, that has the Offroad package.

Actually I'm positive that for 2003 the Protection group was a transfer case skid and tow hooks. If you added the snow plow prep you could elect a cheaper protection group because the snow plow prep came with the transfer case skid. There was no front skid for 03, unless they did something on an offroad model.

I have the transfer case skid plate as well as the tank shield.





I think there should be a skid plate on the front diff and I am going to look at doing that.



Truck is an 04'.
