I will be visiting Norfolk at the beginning of June and was wondering if there is a place to get an EZ or Comp box at a reasonable price.

check with Island off-road just down the highway in Kitty Hawk, NC. I know for sure they carry BD products.

If not it's worth the trip to the OBX and to get away from Nor****(local pronunciation) for awhile.

There's a few off road shops in the Hampton roads area, pro trucks, eastern off road, pungo off road, and at least 2 more just can't remember the names right now.

robobx, you sound local. My son, just out of Navy basic and advanced training joined up with his ship at Norfolk last Tuesday. So far he hasn't had a chance to check out the local action, any advise?

We're considering flying or driving out later this summer. I suspect Virginia Beach and Myrtle Beach would be high on the list of to-do's, just looking for some local input.

Thanks, Ronnie

I lived an hour south of VA Beach on the OBX for a few years. now living in charlotte. not too sure of the local stuff around norfolk, best shop I think is High Dust 4x4.

VA beach is OK. the dolphin watching boat trips are cool. the aquarium is good. at night on the ocean front it's best to park and walk... Norfolk zoo is one of the worst I have ever seen, nothing there. just driving by Newport news shipbuilding is a sight to see.

If you get tired of the commercial stuff head down to the OBX and relax. honestly when I am there it's like nothing else in the world matters to me. so much of it is still just natural and absolutely beautiful. fishing charters, para sailing, wind surfing, jet ski rentals, surf fishing, driving on the beach... you name it! Many from Hampton roads have getaways on the OBX. The only bad thing is all the powerchokers. but there are a few 4x4 shops.

Myrtle is quite a drive, at least 6 hours. and not worth it... Unless you like to shop at Wings.

Norfolk

My office is downtown- best 4x4 place in the area is Pro Trucks in Chesapeake. Number is (757) 424-2500. They have done a lot on my truck. They do mostly suspension and lifts but can order anything. Tell them Mike Imprevento sent you. Norfolk is a great place and we have the Navy to thank for it.
