Does anyone know where I can get a LF16035 Stratopore filter for my new CTD? I've called around the area, couldn't find any, and just got a note back from Geno's that they're backordered and will be a couple weeks before they ship. I really want to get the first oil change done on the truck. I live in Western NY, and would travel to Buffalo or Erie PA to get one.

Thanks,

Scott

Try your local Cummings dealer or repair shop that sells Fleetguard products. I contacted one close to me. The parts guy wasn't familiar with the LF16035 filter but agreed to order some and now has them in stock. The best part is he sells the LF16035 for $8. 50 and the FS19579 fuel filters for $8. 36. Scott:

Just got off the phone with 5 Star (814-825-6150), a cummins dealer at the Route 8/ I90 interchange outside Erie. Ask for Andy in parts.

They stock the fuel filters (FS19579), and he is ordering a case of the stratapore's (LF16035) for me. I used these guys for all the oem parts and filters for my old '92, and Andy always treated me right.

Prices Brian is quoting are better though. Brian, where are you located?

Pat

Doh! California. Never mind. I'm sure shipping would take up the difference.

Fleetguard part information for LF16035 is listed below.

LF3972 Stratapore upgrade

Product Comment

Stratapore version of LF3972. This filter is similar to LF3894 except it has a fluted shell for 03MY Dodge Ram application.

I copied this from the Fleet Guard Catalog Indicates that the LF3894 is the ame filter. Just doesn't have the grippy flutes . Probably new stock hasn't made it to the field yet

Go to your local Cummins RV service dealer or truck dealer, they should be able to help you out.

I got mine from a local Freightliner shop, for about a buck fifty less than Genos. I'm sure there has to be a local truck shop like Kenworth, Freightliner, etc. somewhere around you.

The Fleetguard Stratapore LF3894 oil filter is also a direct fit for the 3rd Gen. It's identical to the LF16035 except it does not have the "notched" end designed for an end grip filter wrench. Oh, there is one additional difference, the LF3894 is typically $2 cheaper!

Thanks for the replies. I ordered a couple filters at the International dealer about 40 miles away - they took two days to come in. That will hold me until Geno's gets past the backorder problem.
