After A year of research we have decided South Dakota is the place to call home while we fulltime. Anyone out there living in South Dakota?

Born and Raised in the Black Hills, absolutely love it. I am living in Minnesota at the moment finishing my degree but will be back in the spearfish area soon after. I will be happy to answer anyquestions you might have as I have a very solid knowledge on my home state. Just do me one favor, don't tell too many people how great it is out in the hills, we don't want to wind up as another Los Angeles suburb:D , (just kidding) Really, just reply or send me a PM I would be glad to help.

Last year a co-worker and his wife went with us and he ended up writing a check in Spearfish for a 2002 PST hehehe great dealer though, we were in and out the door in 25 minutes and that included a test drive  I did like the 4 real full doors... ... . hint hint hint

Yeah Deadwood and Spearfish are fun, I worked my first ambulance job in Deadwood and have been on the Spearfish Ambulance since fall of 99. I still take call there when I am back between class sessions. The dealer you went to in Spearfish must have been Johnson ford. I bought a 1990 ford half ton with a 300 in line six from them about two years ago and they were great to deal with, even replaced a power door lock in the thing for nothing when it went out about a week after I bought the truck. That pickup got totalled when a guy t-boned me on my way home from work one morning. Oh well, I figure god must have had a plan because the day afterward my mom came and asked if I wanted to buy her Dodge because she felt that since she wasn't traveling with her fifth wheel anymore she would like to have a Jeep to get around in easier. I tell ya there is nothing like a mom who wants her boys to drive real trucks. She helped my brother with some financing so he could buy a 2001 with a cummins. I'm telling ya they raise women right out here:D

Went through Deadwood this July going to Glazier Park and Yellowstone. Pretty little town. Place was covered up with Corvettes. There was some northwestern corvette rally and was told there was over 500 in town. Also a big Harley Rally some where close by. Yea I lost a little and helped the economy.

Yeah there is a few bikers that come through here every summer. I think they said attendance for the rally this year was in the 500,000 range. This was my fourth year of working ambulance during the little pow-wow. fairly quiet as far as the medical stuff, I was only on one fatality. I think there were 7 or 8 total. Some might say that is alot but when you figure the entire population of the state is only around 780,000 which works out to roughly 1. 5 persons per square mile and then add to that that the majority live in the eastern half of the state, to go and almost double the entire state's population and then have that few a fatalities is pretty good. Our roads just aren't designed for the kind of traffic that the rally brings in and especially up in the curvy roads in the black hills. Our emergency services and police do an outstanding job, I am damned proud to be a part of that.
