We will be making our bi-annual trip to Florida later this spring. Have stayed at quite a few campgrounds. Looking for input on central Florida. Is there a campground that is cheap/clean/and has a nice pool.

Thanks

Dennis

Dennis, Last T-Giving we took the kids down to do the Disney thing. Stayed at the kOA about 4 miles away. nice clean pool and shuttle service to the attractions, if remember correctly it was $32 per night.

have fun, bryan K

tamiami trails is on old 41 in north ft. myers used to stay there in the winters. Dads there right now nice pool, pool hall its a big park. rates should be ok that time of year.

We stayed at a park at the exit of the Christmas house on I75. There are 2 parks, one to the east of 75 and one to the west of 75. We like the one west of 75. They will honor Passport America too. Lots of trees, pool, nice clubhouse, quiet, nice sites.

We did a back in, not pull thorugh. Turned out to be $25 / night. Concrete site. Lots of trees. 50 amp. 2 adults + dog. Lots of space over against the fence for the dog to play fetch.

We will definitely go back. Nice people too.

We are GS and are going to wagon master our club (10 rigs) there over memorial day.

You might consider, Jetty Park Camp Ground. Located in Port Canaveral, Cape Canaveral Fl. Full hook ups available. Located on the Canaveral Inlet. 1000ft crusie ships pass three to four times a week, Walking distance to the Atlantic Ocean beach. (to cold for me this time of year) Good place to watch rocket launches from the Cape. (Check Schedules for launches, Delta's and Atlas)

50 minutes from Disney World. 10 minutes from Cocoa Beach.

Fort Wilderness, located on Disney World. (kind of expensive)

unless your on vacation.

Sebastian Inlet Camp Ground. 35 miles south of Melbourne, Fl

Fishing is good. Beach and kinda differant.

There are many more in the area. If you need phone numbers let me know.

We have stayed at Fort Wilderness before. VERY nice but kinda pricey in peak season. Was looking at a place called Sonlife in Cocoa. Or maybe somplace near the beach on the other side.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate it. Not going till April.

When I used to Cave Dive I would stay at a campground in Mayo, Fl called Jim Hollis River Rendevous. It has the river for canoing and is in the heart of spring country in fact the main building is right beside convict spring which is a nice spring. It was cheap as all get out, at least it was 5 years ago. $5 for tent camping. It was mostly set up for divers. If you have never seen all the springs of central florida you might consider it. You can see all the springs at Luraville and Branford is close by.

Our two favorite campgrouns in the whole country are in Florida.

Fort Wilderness at Disney, but that is expensive. The other one is Fort De Soto. It is a county operated park so they don't take reservations. It is on the gulf side south of St. Pete Beach. Just go south till you can't go no further. The campsites are right on the ocean. Site #7 is my favorite. Not sure of price now days but it is very cheap.
