I've been in the market for a 25' dual tandem gooseneck flatbed trailer and have been having trouble finding one at all here in Ohio. The new ones run $6,000-$8,000 and that is crazy! What is a man to do? Any suggestions appreciated
John, did you try doing a search on the net'? I don't have the address but am pretty sure there is a site that lists used trailers. If I get a chance to look for it I will post it. I see them now and then in my Lancaster Farming weekly newspaper. Sometimes the weekly auto/truck books have them. Just have to get lucky.
I bought a new 25' gooseneck made by these folks (from their dealer in Shenandoah, IA) for $4050. I feel it is far superior to the Featherlite steel trailers, and 4-600 less $. Everything is top quality, and they have many very well thought out features. The dealer is Sunshine "S" Trailers, 712-246-3522.
I looked for 2 years for a good used trailer, and came to the conclusion that they don't exist. good luck!
I am always looking for a back up trailer or one for fire wood, I look in the papers and auto mags there aren't a lot out there people use the hell out of them and scrap them not like trucks when people trade up for more options I have seen some trailer that should be scraped and not sold or pulled on the hwy I moved one for a guy he got it free 15 ft tandem dual with tillt but it had no wood on it the main runners where rusted through and the pump and motor where junk didn't try the lights or brakes he was quit happy thow
