where to find invoice pricing? Or what should I pay for this truck?

I have been searching for a day now and can't find a place to get invoice pricing with a diesel engine. Also, How much should I expect to pay over invoice? If i wouldn't have a truck to trade-in I would just go see Tommeygun :(

Here is what I want:

06, 2500, 2wd, quad cab, 5. 9l, 6sp. , Bighorn or equivalent package, tow package, Bright white and slate grey cloth. cd player.

What have you guys paid? what price would be a deal? Would I be better off waiting until August or September?

first off never trade a diesel in, or usually any vehicle for that matter, diesels sell like hot cakes here for usually more than book value, The dealer is only going to give you what they could take the vehicle to auction and sell it for wholesale. ie you will loose 2-3k on what you could have sold it for privately

I am not sure if there is a rhyme or reason how they come up with the invoice price, but if you take 10. 5% off the sticker price you will be within plus or minus $200 or so. an easier way is to just multiply the sticker by . 895 and you get the number you want, I have also learned this calculation also works for other makes of vehicles to get invoice, or at least the phoney one they show you, It worked on the 06 toyota van I bought recently.

I am going to be picking up a new truck here in about 3 weeks, from dave smith motors, the deal they made me is

$1200 below invoice price

-500 farm bureau

-485 big horn value group discount.

0% for 60 mos.

currently 0% is not being offered, but that may change after the end of the month. let me know if you have any more questions

If you do your homework you can buy one for hundreds of dollars below invoice. Look up "Dave Smith Motors" and you will see some examples of their pricing. You should be able to get close to this, if you go to your local dealer with the facts in hand. Many of them will come close to matching the deal, on an ordered truck. Also... Look up sites like "Edmunds.com" and you should be able to get the invoice price... ;)

heck, thats doesn't mean I wouldn't print the invoice for ya!

When I get home I will see if I can scan it in and post it :)

BTW - I guess around $900-$1400 under invoice... :D

and PS - I've had a few conversations with the guy as Dave Smith motors. . Seems like a straight up place... Heck, its the largest Dodge dealer if I remember correct

Didn't mean to shortchange you Tom. I thought you got out of the business of selling trucks but I see by your link that you do internet sales... . ;)

No big deal. I am just a broker for them now... I set the price, They sell it.

But I still have all the passwords to the dealer sites (which is the best part!!)
