I posted this in the Product/ Accessories forum as well, hoping to gain more exposure.

I have the 92 in my signature, and a small problem. My girlfriend's grandpa has given us his 18ft camper trailer, and it is a bumper pull. My pickup lacks a decent bumper hitch. It has a bed mounted concoction that I was leery of pulling an empty 18ft flatbed trailer on, much less a nice (albeit small, but it's only for the two of us) camper. Now, the truck has a 9ft bed on an 8ft chassis (WAS a pickup once upon a time), hence I cant put a regular frame mounted reciever hitch on it, as it will be too far under the end of the bed. I would like to replace the bed on there anyway- frame/ supports are cracking and warping, so it wouldnt be a bad idea to replace it. Where can I look to find one? I found one on ebay in Denver last week, but it had too long a C-A length (probably set up for a C&C). Where else can I look for one? Maybe junkyards? Dont know of any around here that get too many 1tons, though.

Finding used flats is spotty to say the least. Most of the time if you find a used one it is just luck.

Be sure to measure the main frame on a used one. In 94 Dodge went to a wider frame spacing. Not sure when Chevy and Ford went wider also.

I don't know of any around here. I will keep my eyes open for you.

Thanks, Phillip.

It looks like for now I will just cut about 8" off the back of my current one and reweld the back on. It doens thave to look pretty, just be functional. I have a line on a ClassV hitch for $140.

You called the junkyards? A used class 3 for a Dodge shouldn't be that hard to find.

Or just buy a slide in for $25. and build your own. I have built many over the years. :D

I might have a line of a flatbed. I'll know something about it later on this weekend.

I found one not too far away (lot closer than IN) for $500 I am going to go look at tomorrow. I had called him about the hauler bed on his 92-93 D350 he had been wanting to sell last time I talked to him (this was when i picked up those fenders for bgilbert). Turns out he is selling the whole truck. I will look at and drive it tomorrow and report back to this forum if his asking price is fair.

Thanks for your efforts, Philip- let me know what youfind out; never know what may happen.

Remember I have a scouting network in Ok. also. LOL

I should know something tomorrow. My brother was going to check it out today.
