I placed an order with Wheel works about a month ago for some Alcoa Challanger Wheels and they took my Visa for $160. 00 per wheel. Now they are telling me they are harder to get and they mis-quoted me the price and the price should be 250. 00 per wheel. Ouch! Anyone know of another place in the Bay Area where i can buy?
Thanks in advance.

4 Wheel Parts Wholesalers in San Jose has them for $191. 95 ea. but states they will not be undersold. See if they'll match or beat Desert Rat (http://www.desertrat.com) in Tucson. They have them for $169. 95 ea. on pg. 21 of the April 2000 issue of Four Wheeler magazine. Good luck.

It is my understanding that Alcoa is in the middle of a strike. They have indicated that they will not be able to distribute any new product until Summer of 2000. The only Alcoa wheels you can puchase are wheels that are already in stock at dealers stores. Good Luck!

Fitz, my M/T Alcoa Challengers (16x8) listed for $224. ea. (not including center cap) early last year. I purchased them at Discount Tire for $174 ea. Absolutely the strongest aluminum wheel on the market!

BTW, are you still pleased with your Sun Coast Pro-Loc TC? Do you feel the stall point is about right or, too low?

Guys,
Thanks a bunch for all the replies, this gives me some other places to check. I really don't see myself paying $250. 00 a wheel.

John,
I don't have the Suncoast Converter. But I am looking to purchase one in the next year or so as I can't stand the way the stock auto transmission shifts. Expecially since I put my banks kit on, I have to be easy on the throttle because I can "feel" the torque converter clutch slipping when it locks up. I am thinking about doing the install myself, but not sure how much skill it takes. If I can save say 1,000. 00 on labor, then it's probably worth scraping a few knuckles. Besides, the money I save will help justify to my boss (wife) that I need to buy more tools. Anyway, if you know of anyone that has experience with the Suncoast converters, please pass it on.
Lets see... this topic started out being on what... wheels I think, sorry for the rambling.

ALCOA has a website, search(alcoa aluminum wheels) it will give you all the when, where, and how much info you need.
