And by locally, I mean within about a 100mi radius. I had a local shop here in Cape Girardeau- supposedly the best- align the front end of my 92 D350, and it wanders like a drunken sailor on shore leave. Not as bad as Mom's with her bad center link, but still cant take my hands off the wheel. There is no slack anywhere outside a slight bit in the steering box itself, which I may adjust or may replace with an aftermarket box. Ball joints and steering components, as well as the bushings are all nearly new (<5000mi).

I will pay for quality, but dont want to drive 100mi to get a job I can get done at Sears or a tire shop here locally.

Maybe send an email to Parks Automotive here

If they don't do alignments they most likely will have a good suggestion.

I had considered Clark's, and they are within spitting distance of the house (I live on Benton), but their shop looks long-since closed up. I might give them a call. Thanks.

Hrm, their link on that page is highlighted because they are an iATN sponsor. Sponsorship is a paid subscription with special privileges, I am surprised they look closed. The others listed on that page are members, just not sponsors so you might look a few of those up in you local phone book by name.

An independent repair shop that does chassis work & alignments would IMO provide a more competent job than a chain outfit employing a lower paid tech. You can also do some other searching by selecting zip code, area code, City and mileage here.

It is a old building but they are open and on site from 7 AM till 12 noon every week day. Sometimes Vince will be there after noon (until 3 PM) if they have work to be done. When caught up for the day, they close at 12 ;)

Several of the local body shops use them for wreck repair front end alignments also. Tell them I sent ya.
