Call Deanna

If you're looking for a 2002 she's the one to talk to. Especially if the prices in Ohio are anything like they are in CA. She saved us a bunch--about $3000 better than a good friend at a local dealer could even begin to get close to. She can even courtesy ship for a couple of hundred bucks if you're not looking for a road trip. But if you are... Deanna will have someone pick you up at the airport. Only one thing about the trip--we found out Texas is BIG.

Good luck,

dealers

Oo. mark roberts motors in bartlesville, ok, or melton in claremore, Ok also chapprell in ada , ok... ..... all are invoice dealers, and i think you can find them all on line. i have heard they will pick you up at tulsa airport to get trucks. i personally have bought 2 trucks from mrm, and one from chapprellOo. :D :p  :D

Mark Roberts

heard good things about Mark Roberts in OK. Was planning on buying from them after months of looking with now luck and dealers around won't move much on price. I found one locally within $500 is the only reason I didn't.

You might try calling some local dealers and ask for the fleet sales dept. They can give you a much better price than the "regular" salesperson since the fleet sales staff do not work on commission. I called several of the "invoice" dealers mentioned here (Dave Smith, Mark Roberts, Chaprell, etc) and after comparing all the prices (9 different dealer quotes in all) the fleet sales dept at one of my local dealers came within $200-300 of the invoice/volume dealers. When I calculated travel expense and travel time to any of the above mentioned invoice dealers it worked out to either the same cost or MORE than my local dealer, plus not to mention the hassle it would be to arrange time off work to go pick up the new truck (factory order) once it arrived at an out of state dealer. I also found most dealers don't drop ship trucks anymore and if they do, any savings you had is offset by the cost to have the truck drop shipped to a local dealer of your choice. Just something to think about.

The fleet mgr is the way to go. Both RAM gotten for a $100 over invoice. The invoice prices exactly matched those on www.kbb.com. It is best to know what you want up front. They input the order, you pay the deposit and in a couple of weeks you have it.

Also, you will tend get a better price to ordering a truck rather than getting one from the lot. The dealers have to pay interest on those on the lot so most would prefer to give you the best deals by ordering and you agree to pick up the day it arrives.

I have heard of people getting deals even under invoice. The dealers, if they meet their quota get a 3% kick back from Dodge quarterly. Some have been just using that as their margin. If they have a good service department which is making them a lot of money. They can afford to keep their customers happy by taking less on the initial sale.

It pays to shop around by fax. A letter stating that you want to purchase a truck in the next week of with the following options sent to a number of fleet mgrs will generally get you the good price. Tell them that you need their offers back by a certain time and then pick the deal which is best for you.

You might still be able to get a better price if you can show that you are repeat buyer from a particular dealership.

I got prices from a couple of the national dealers----Dave Smith and the one in Bartlesville Okla. Then went to my local dealer and said, "here is what the truck I want will cost from the big dealers, I would like to buy it from you, but won't pay more; what can you do?" There was a couple day delay, but they matched the price of Dave Smith-------$200 BELOW invoice and I saw the invoice.

Need new Ram

Call Helm Motors, Lexington TN and ask for Marlane or Danny and tell them Allen sent you. (731) 968-2012 They are really great people to do business with.

They have several 02's in stock and want to move them soon!!

One other thing I would like to add, is pay attention to the BASE price of the truck (price BEFORE any options are added). In all my 9 quotes I noticed something very interesting. The base price for the truck was the same as what Kelly Blue Book, etc. listed it as from the Dealers who where up front and said they DO charge either X amount above invoice or Dealer prep and handling charges. Now here is where I noticed something very interesting. The dealers who claimed they DID NOT charge over invoice, had NO dealer prep & handling charges, or extra mark-up... ... ... . The base price of the truck was MORE than the dealers who admitted to charging a mark-up. And further evaluation shown that the base price of the truck increased right about the same amount as the mark-up from the other dealers. So just goes to show do not get suckered to buy a truck from a dealer who claims to be able to sell you a truck at invoice and absolutly NO mark-up..... check the base price of the truck and you may find it is $200-300 higher than the guy who says " we charge a $200 dealer prep and handling mark-up". Also make it very clear if getting phone quotes that you want to know about any mark-up's, etc they charge. If you call and ask for a quote they may forget to add or mention any additional mark-ups (Dealer prep charges, handling charges, X amount over invoice, etc). Instead you find out when you sit down to go over the paper work. I found this out first hand. :-{}

Best deals

Carson Dodge in Carson City, Nevada just had an ad out for a 02 3/4 Diesel quad cab, short, stick and I think it was slt lar style model, All for 27,700. 00 plus tax and paper work fee. 775-883-2020.

I am also from Cincinnati. When I went lookign for mine, I went to every dodge dealer in the area. I did not like any of them except maybe Joe Kidd dodge on Beechmont Ave. All of the other dealers are very very pushy. I ended up stumbling onto an add from Jackson Dodge in Celina Ohio up by Lake St. Mary's. This was in December of 2001 I called to ask them if they had anything and they said they had 2 2001 leftover 6 speeds. So I went up one friday night and looked and drove them. I put 200 cash on the one I liked and they held it for 3 weeks until I sold my other truck. The one I bought has every option available except leather and power seats, it stickered for 37,600 and I paid 31,200 after taxes. My girlfriend's dad was look for a auto QC SB and all the dealers around in cincinnati said there were none in this region so we called Jackson and they had one in that Graphite color wich was his choice anyways. This one was a 2002 that had every option but leather adn stickered for 37,900 and he bought it for 34,000 after taxes. The dealer is about 2-2. 5 hours north of Cincy. You can call 419-586-1681 and ask for either Bob Hare or MArk Nixson.

When I got mine, I got the best deal at Remsen Dodge in Hazlet, NJ.

Talk to Dave or (sales manager) Sol.

I dont have the window sticker here in front of me, but I think my list was over 37K (loaded except 5 speed) and I got it for just over 32.

That was over 4 years ago, but theyre both still there. I sent my brother in law and he bought a gasser from them 3 months ago.

The local guy by me had an 02 in the news paper for 22 or 23K a little while ago. It was a std cab auto 2 wd. Bob Caisulli in Toms River.

I bought 2 of them in Dec, 2000 from Kerry Dodge. I called Mr. DeCastro (The owner who sold me the first 2) and he has a 2002 silver loaded truck. Stickers for 44,000. He said I cold have it for invoice (37,000) and the rebate too. (3000). I think I'll go talk to him again.

Jackson Dodge

We also bought our 2002 from Jacksom Dodge in St. Mary's OH. They sell their trucks for . 5% over invoice. They are great to work with too. Customer service is excellent. They usually have about 20 Dodge Cummins sitting on their lot. I would definately go back to them again.

A friend of mine bought an 02 auto with long bed for 29,000 out the door. I haven't seen it so can't say about the equipment on it.

I bought my truck from Meltons in claremore ok, i cant honestly recommend them. They are a bunch of jerks and lairs. I dont like to bad mouth people but all i can say is i will never buy another vechicle from them or let a friend deal with them. Check out Mark Roberts in ok, i have a friend who is very happy with the truck and service from them. JMO
