Where to get good quality Voltage regulator

I Have 2 first Gen dodge diesels and carry a spare regulator and replace one every few years between the two trucks. I used up the last 10 year old spare last winter. I bought the best one OReilly had and it lasted a whole week, the next one lasted a month and burned out all my lights when it stuck wide open. where can I get a good one?

You can get new mopar ones from Summit racing

Summit is ok. But if I needed one, I'd call the resto people. Start with Mancini Racing in mich.

Last time I ordered them from Summit, they were Mopar brand Made in the USA. They've been working well for me.

there were basically 2 external regulators used by Chrysler from 1970 threw 1991. The first was a 4 amp the second was a 7 amp. The 7 amp was used on the big cars/trucks that had 100 amp alts on them.
No one makes the 7 amp anymore ! The 4 amp that is available today has crummy light weight electronics in them. They blow at the drop of a hat ! The diesel trucks grid heater will blow them instantly. I actually cut one of them apart to see what was inside. The electronic board was smaller than a match book cover. It was cooked to a crisp... I won't put up with this. I had some made that were 8 amp and include an adjustment potentiometer so the voltage could be set to suit the type of battery being used. I also use them to add on to trucks that have a bad built in ecm regulators . Anyone that wants one send me a

Gary , how much for the ones you have ? what about the ones used in the 60s dodges ive heard that the vovo ones were cloned and worked better

The performance regulators do not charge well at low rpm. They are for high rpm drag race cars
