Would like to replace front and rear. Don't really need lift, but wouldn't mind an inch or so. I have to replace the rears. It's sagging pretty bad, and they have been rearched once already.

Thanks

hello sir,

www.texastrucktoys.com is an atlas springs dealer. they do a good job of taking care of the guys on pavement sucks. i think it would be worth looking into and/or calling them to see what they can do for you. when i was looking into it for lift purposes they said they were very reasonable price wise on my rears.

good luck to ya

new springs

Don't know abut new springs but I can reccomend air bags. When my high miles 93 was about a year old, we put the air bag setup that mounts on the rear of the springs. Didn't like it and didn't seem to help all that much also killed the rear ujoint right quick under really heavy loads. But we put the hangers back like stock and moved the air bags right over the axle. We extended the channel iron that mounts the in bed ball and they fit pretty close but never drag or touch. I can carry any load level and the springs are actually higher than when the truck was new.

This was a fairly complex fab job but definitely do-able. This is on a D350 and I don't know about a 250 or W series as far as clearance.

Where ever you get them, DO NOT buy them from JC Whitney, I bought rear 7 leaf HD springs and they had about the same arch as the worn worn sagging stockers I took out, all in all, I only got about a half an inch lift, and was still sagging. I think the best bet would be to buy a 2" soft ride lift kit from Skyjacker or whoever makes them, get 2"lift and a softer ride. This is only what I've heard from the TDR members that have gone through this same thing.

How long has it been since they were rearched? Do you haul heavy loads? If it hasnt been very long since you had them rearched, you can try taking the truck back to the shop that did the rearch and tell them your not satisfied etc, and have them rearch them again, this is what I did with my front leafs. Less than 12 months or 12k mi warranty from this local shop, rearched them to my specs for nothing.

Skyjacker Softrides would be the ones to look at also. I put the 2. 5" in the front of mine and the ride improved greatly. Just make sure they are for the DIESEL truck, they make different ones for gassers. They make rear packs too that help out the ride even more. I happen to have a kelderman unit in the rear of my truck. The combo works out pretty well. I would not recommend the skyjacker shocks. They stiffen the ride out. I am running rancho adjustables. Ride nice empty and full. Have to lay under the truck to adjust them though.

Skyjackers!

I'm running front 6" Skyjackers, and 4" rears with AIrbags. The ride is great. Since you don't want much lift, just get the shortest lift springs from them..... 2. 5"? You could run the 4" rears and remove the lift block in the rear. The rear springs are'nt really designed for the loads that the originals are, but with the Airbag set-up in the rear it will more than compensate for it. Complete this with the Rancho adjustables and your set! Great ride unloaded, and use the airbags when loaded. Simple.
