My poor old 93 has been leaking oil from just about every where but mainly from the rear main. Is there any specific brand of seals I should get? I would like to find a lower end kit that contains the oil pan gasket, timing cover and both crank seals if possible. Does any one know where to get a good kit and the part numbers. Thanks for your help.

Thanks, I will check with my local cummins shop. Does anybody have part numbers? Every time I go to cummins and try to get something for a dodge they always have a hard time finding the correct part numbers.

If you can, get me your Engine Serial Number.

I'll check back in the morning, and will get you some numbers.

If you can't find a serial number I can do it without one, just prefer to use a serial number if available.

Mike. :)

You might want to tear it down first. If you need wear sleeves the standard seals won't help you out. If you do need sleeves you will also need tools to install the sleeves

Wear sleeves ? I didnt know they had them for the cummins seals , nor has Cummins NW ever asked about them ever

I found a '93 ESN to pirate so here it is.....

Thanks for all the replies. Those part numbers will make my life a lot easier. The parts guy at my local cummins shop loves when I come in with the part numbers. I really hope that I don't have any grooves to deal with, the truck runs so good I really don't want to mess with anything and screw it up.

Quad 4X4 in Roberts, Montana is also a source for seals and installation tools. I have used his installation method and it works great. If we were closer, I would let you borrow my seal installation tool. The price on his tool has really increased since I bought one back in 2007. Heres a link in case you are interested. GregH

Your parts guy is a little green, they are available for front and rear. CVranks are too expensive to replace when they get grooved. Cuumins has the kits with sleeve and a larger seal to replace them and go another 500k. :)

The Cummins seal kit will come with a centering tool for the rear main seal. The seal is a housing that unbolts form the block. The easiest way is pop the seal out and replace it, but, the housing could be out of alignment. ?The careful way is pull the housing, replace the seal, and bolt the housing back on with the aligment tool.

You will need the gasket, #11 in mikes first pic, the seal kit, and some good high temp oil compatible silicone to seal corners.

Don't be surpised if the seal comes out in several pieces when you take it apart. When they start to leak that bad its usually in pieces.
