AAHH man!! My 02 started tapping other day, so I went and hauled it in and tore it down.

Machenic asked if it was ever hot? Noo... well yea it was too.

About a year ago one of my hired men called and said the truck was a (little hot). I ask him how hot? O 200-210*. I say that is not way bad go on to the next store and get some water, Ok.

A week or 2 later I talk to other hire man that was with him and he said that the heat gauge was on 240* all the way, even before he called me. #@$%!

Please don't lie to me!!!!

So now I'm into rebuilding this one or looking for a Reman.

Where do I look to get a good engine and a good deal???

The man does not work for me anymore for other reasons too!!!!!!!!:-{}

Hey thanks guys, I'm looking around.

I figure that rebuild would be cheaper.

Just ain't decided what to do. A reman will be in the truck faster and get me back on the road.

I'm out of a truck and it's killin me!!!!!!

Jasper is pretty much top-of-the-line as far as I can tell. They don't just rebuild it, they make it better. My website link works for me in a sec, the NC version is bogging down. Could be a location thing.

Hey, try having a crapped-out NV5600... . Star Center lists none available. Mine's been in the shop all week, and the warranty folks finally approved teardown yesterday, but my mech had an emergency, so he'll be starting today, to confirm that my intermediate shaft bearing on the input shaft is shot. At least I get to drive my wife's 740iL :-laf

From Jasper Engines Website Regarding NV5600:

"****THIS TRANSMISSION CASE HAS A HIGH JUNK OUT RATE****

IF THE CASE IS BAD, THERE WILL BE A $500. 00 CHARGE TO REPLACE IT. "

List Price is $4242, BTW.

Kinda makes me glad they went to the G56.

And here I thought the NV5600 was bulletproof... . F@#K!

I wonder if the G56 is retrofitable into the 2nd Gen.
