I've seen these new cars with the new HID really intense headlamp system. My question is where or can I get my hand's on some of the new style replacement bulbs.

There is a company that makes a direct replacement HID for our 9004's. There is one catch. They are spendy. I will post that link below. I got some 85/100 bulbs from another place. They work great and they were under $30 for the pair. That link is below also. Hope this helps.

you know... the punk (Evan Beck) purchased a set of the HID replacement lights for his Ram several months ago. I'm not sure if he has found the time to install them or not.

Evan?

I have a set of them in my 3500 and love them. There are two companies that have them to my knowledge, APC and Matrix. The APC brand is available in Jegs.

John, I got the HID kit right here, just need to install the thing. Here's a few specs on the system:

Halogen (stock)

Watts: 55
Lumens: 1,000

HID:

Watts: 35
Lumens: 3,200

More efficient, to say the least! #ad

Question for those with the HID lights. I looked at the link above (I think they sell Phillips) and they indicate in the FAQ's that this is a low beam conversion only, and since our trucks use a single bulb (except for Sports) that we would not have a high beam any longer. The solution is to jury rig a second bulb in the housings. $600+ is a lot of money to spend just to get the low beams converted plus losing the high beams.

Any comments? Is this really true? I can't believe that even HID lights negate the need for high beams.

Maybe you need to convert to Sport lights first? We are starting to talk about a $1000 conversion if that is true!

My understanding is that they sell a direct replacement kit for the 9004 light bulbs. When I asked him about high beams (part of the warning lights on my truck) he said that the new bulbs should not interfere with it's operation. I made sure to ask him specifically about the high beams as that is what flashes on the truck. He also said that they are a cold strike light bulb. So they can take the flashing better than other lighting systems. I sure hope this helps out. I may give them a call to confirm what was told to me.
