any of you folks from the bay area? i've got a wish list a mile long, but i'm not always so keen on buying things over a computer or mail order. i just like checking things out. i want to look at gauges, in particular, and i'd probably be better off getting them installed, as well. anybody know anywhere to go for parts and gadgets around here (anywhere from santa cruz to santa rosa)?

i can round up guage installs from diprocals to autometers to the top of the line spa

I am in modesto this could be done when ever i have time to gather trucks

Brandon

You are in prime real estate for BOMBing. Neither Brandon nor Nowel (HVAC) will do you wrong. I've done a bit of business with both of them, top notch and just plain good guys to talk to.

Ofcourse, there was that time that Brandon threatened to coat my valve cover in hot pink :D .

I'm Right Here

JawBreaker, take a look to the west, see the fog? I'm in Half Moon Bay, just over the hill from you.

You can give me a call if you like. Be happy to help.

Hey Nowell, are you slummin again ?? lololo havn't seen you on line for awhile, e-z still tooo cool talk at you soon

regards, JDM JOE

You Gotta Go with Nowel. Great Knowledge, friendly service, ocean front property, wicked little red truck that's a product platform, and some darn good places to eat in the neighborhood. It's just a hop, skip and a speeding ticket away. If Nowel is busy with install time, I'm just 15 minutes away from him. Now that I've moved into the $745,000 house, I have some time to help. Matt

thanks, guys! i'm pretty new, so i'm gonna have lots of questions... i don't just wanna own the coolest truck in the world, i wanna know how it works, and why it works so well. nowel, i'll be contacting you soon... :)

Good To Have Another Local

Jawbreaker, you sound all jacked up about your truck! I can't wait to chat with you :)

There's another fellow in your neighborhood named Mat. He goes by CJ on the BB. Not posting much though. CJ is mostly into his jeep as you might have guessed.

Jawbreaker, you committed this weekend? A few of us are heading to Palmdale to LA Co. Raceway for the DDRA (Diesel Drag Racing Assoc. ) sanctioned event this weekend. I'm going to try real hard to get my truck hooked up and into the low 12's. We race on Saturday and the big rigs take over on Sunday.

Jawbreaker, the local club is called the Ram Runners. We meet in San Jose on the third Tuesday of each month. You can find a bit more info at www.ramrunners.org

Look forward to meeting you!

Thanks to everybody for the kind words. Much appreciated:D

:( unfortunately, i've got all kinds of stuff going this weekend... too bad, though--a trip to the track sounds like too much fun! enjoy yrselves, and lemme know if/when you go again. maybe i'll tag along.

steve... . where's the violation? nowel just directed jawbreaker to a club site. club, meetings, get togethers... . that's what we're all about right? it was the general membership singing nowel's praises and directing a new member where to go AT THAT MEMBER'S REQUEST. i dnn't think nowel was trolling for business.

coming down a little hard. just mho.

Whatever!

Americana,

FWIW, Steve emailed me about being in violation of forum guidelines. Something about me soliciting. That and I left my website link in the main body of my post. From what he said it's ok to leave the link in my sig but not in the main body of the message. Anyway, I deleted the link from the post above. According to him, people were complaining:confused:

He left the link to view the guidelines but so far I have not been able to get that page to open for me. Tried it all day. :(

nowel, i read the link and i didn't see the violation, that's why i commented. i don't want to beat a dead horse nor do i want to fight anyone's battles BUT i was just joining in on reporting with whom i've had positive dealings with. us satisfied customers were the ones that were in violation if anything. and again BUT that's what i thought this forum was all about... . members helping members down the path of rightousnous and truth ;) letting it be known what works and what doesn't as far as parts AND shops/people.

i dunno (big shrug)... . maybe i'm an idiot (please no comments on the last sentance).

Americana,

You deffinately are NOT an idiot.

Bob had left a website link in his post although it was not the address for my site. I didn't want to bring attention to the error Bob had made so I just posted the correct link in my post. I believe this is where the infraction occured.

I can only guess that Steve was emailed by someone in the pacific northwest about my breech of forum guidelines. He did his job.

Thanks to Bob Wagner and Americana. I greatly appreciate your support;)

I saw on the news this morning a postal worker wearing a pair of HD rubber gloves, a bullet proof vest, aspirator, and safety goggles... . Has the TDR come to this... a fellow member has to be very careful in what he posts nowadays for fear of being reprimanded... .

Colin

hey JawBreaker if you want you can email me cause I'm pretty sure I can help you make your 12 valve run at any level you choose to put it to. :)

Sorry I wasn't able to get back to you guys earlier on this. We had tornado's pass through our area on Wednesday (followed by snow and sleet a couple of hours later  ). Knocked out our power and we didn't get it back until mid day Friday - woke up thursday morning to 6 inches of water in our finished basement! :( Needless to say I've been a tad busy the last few days. The guideline that was broken was this:

ii. No posting of the business web site or phone number allowed as a part of any post in the Discussion Forums. Vendors may include their homepage as well as business telephone number in their Profile. (To update Profiles, enter the "User CP" area of the Discussion Forums and complete desired information. )

It is ok for members to post a link to a business website in a thread, but it is not ok for a vendor to do the same. The reason for this is so that vendor's do not use the website to solicit business. I hope you guys can understand the reasoning for this. What I asked Nowell to do was in the future if he wanted to talk with a member about his offerings to do it in a private message (available here on the site) rather than doing it in public.

-Steve
