I am running a TST/MP-8/Smarty stack. I have the mp-8 hooked to the rail, tst to the mp-8 and the factory pigtail to the tst. I am going to install the optix rail gauge and I assume the best location is between the mp-8 and the rail. Just wanted to check with you guys to make sure thats the place to get the most accurate reading.

Yes, RP gauge needs to be on the rail to give an accurate reading.

I was always told to plug the TST to the rail first, so that would put it after the RP gauge. Is the MP-8 foolin the RP to allow for higher PSI? If so, your TST might not be seeing what it needs to to work properly. I know when I had my EZ, it was after the TST.
