I am installing an Auto Meter transmission temperature probe.

Where can I tap into or drill to install the probe?

Thanks

All answers appreciated!

IMO I would buy the early (95) trans line and put it there. Don't forget to knock out the check valve in the new line because there is all ready one in the fitting at the cooler.

Look on the drivers side of the transmission housing just behind and above the shifting mechanism and you will see a plug with a 7/16" hex head. This is a good place to put your sensor however, the hole is not very deep and you do not want to restrict fluid flow past the port. You can use a 1/8"x1/4"npt bell reducer and bushing so that the tip of the probe is exposed to the fluid, but not sticking into the cavity. If you have questions about this probe location or performance goodies please feel free to contact me. :)

The other option is to buy a oil pan drain plug kit and install the probe directly in the pan.

do it right the 1st time

buy the replacement line, you will want to monitor temps in the line going to the cooler

for +-100. 00 its a good investment
