I've been saving some money since I ordered my truck to invest in those "gotta have" extras.

My current debate is where to invest some of these saved funds. I've narrowed it down to two choices.

  • Pacbrake, Pyrometer, Boost gauge
  • Westin Sportsman Deer Killer, 2" Leveling Kit, & ???

My truck is a 2003 3500 HO, 6-speed. I've already added Westin oval nerf bars, CB Radio, Uniden Bearcat 780XLT scanner, Firestik antennas, & BD STS. What should I do next?

well, i was leaning toward list "a" to start with and now, seeing an 11-0 vote (10-0 not including myself), it's for sure... pac brake will be ordered today. now just have to decide which pyrometer. i've also been looking at a turbo temp monitor so i want to make sure that whatever pyro i get, it will work w/that. anyway, thanks for the input! ;)

Sorry, I overlooked the fact that it was an 03. oops! Your right, the fuel pressure is not as critical on the HPCR. THen I would definitly go with list A. How do you like that scanner? I've been eyeing a couple and can't make up my mind.

The BC780XLT is a great scanner. Short of spending $800 it's probably the best you can get. I haven't played w/it a whole lot yet so I have yet to test some of the best features (like trunking). I also have a copy of ARC780 for it. That makes programming and interfacing w/the scanner a breeze. Infact, I like it so much I'll probably buy another one for my house. Well, I'll probably get the new model of it though, the BC785D, which is digital capable, has a 1000 channel capacity (instead of the BC780XLT's 500, which I have yet to fill anyway), and is roughly the same price...

If I was making this decision it would depend on two things. One, am I going to tow heavy with this truck and two, am I going to add horsepower bombs in the future. If neither of these are going to happen, I would choose "B".

Good Luck,

Bill

Pacbrake

Check out Camping world for the Pac... They had the best price that I could find at $597+tax but that was for a '99.
