Soon after purchasing my 2001 new, I installed a FP gauge... After 80K & 4yrs the OEM LP began to fail & I had FASS installed. . I immeadiatly started having the Hard Start problem on long trips when hauling my camper... After using a borrowed SMARTY to install the latest DC flash the problem persists... . (It's embarrassing to take 9 mins to restart at a gas pump while others are waiting & the guy in the PSD is smirking at you), and I can't help but think that this hard starting & shaking can't be good for the VP44 ...

I'm thinking about having my mechanic, ( I'm Technically challenged), disconnect the FASS and install a new LP... After reading thru the :"Cavitation is not your VP-44's friend" thread I'm wondering if it might not be better to have the mechanic install the new LP back on the frame closer to the tank... . Opinions??? and Ideas on other things I might have him check..... If I can get anywhere near 80k out of a new LP, I'll be very happy..... Thanks.

Get it installed something like this down on the frame close to your fuel tank, and chances are, your problems will disappear:
