ORANGE RAMMERS DYNO DAY

Boerne Event Replacement - Here's the Plan

I was signed up for Boerne, although it is pretty far from Las Vegas, NV. I have read a lot of posts on the replacement thread, but nothing seems final yet.

I hope you Texans can come up with a date that doesn't conflict with other events like the one in Calif. in October. I'd like to attend.

I also hope you get some final plans going soon so they can be printed in the TDR! Someone probably has to take the "longhorn" by the horns and "just do it. " No doubt there will not be a complete consensus on anything, so I suspect the first person to call Patton or Dalgleish will have it!

Thanks, folks; I'm looking forward to it.
Joe

Hi Joe. A group were going to Temple, TX to check out a site yesterday (I wasn't able to make it at the last minute). I haven't heard yet, but, I think we could say with certainty that the meet will be there. I believe we've decided on September 23, at one of the area lakes. Looks like the event may be sponsered by a Dodge dealer from southern Dallas area - at least it was volunteered at one time. I sure hope you can make it, as well as anyone else not necessarily from Texas.

We just got back from Lake Belton. We found a park there with a large pavillion. Seats 150 people and has parking for 100 trucks. There is a large BBQ pit as well as a resturant. Also volleyball, horseshoes, and a playground for the kiddies. Nice thing is that it only costs $100 for the weekend so it will be free to all who want to attend. The Big D Dodge Diesel club is going to spring for the cost. All that needs to be done now is call and make reservations. We will check on that tomorrow and I will post something when that is final. Also, we are checking on area campgrounds for those who want to camp and there is a boat ramp for those who want to bring a boat.

Joe,

In the beginning, we tossed around the idea of the Boerne Replacement Event as a nationwide TDR gathering. I tried to contact R. Patton by sending my contact information through Rob Spading. I needed some advice, and to determine why the original event cancelled; he never phoned or emailed. Since I did not receive a response from TDR, Jeff, Randy and myself decided to make it a local gathering in place of a monthly meeting.

Everyone and anyone is welcome.

Yes, I plan to attend the Tulare CA meet/pull although Sickly will probably just cringe and watch the big dogs #ad
Ya see, I have to tow my trailer back home and a broken Ram won't help my attitude #ad

Sep 23, huh? I will probably attend, as long as I have filled my bighorn tag by then. Season runs Sep 2-Oct 1 and I have been trying to get the tag for 10+ years.

You might e-mail Robert at rpatton@ix.netcom.com and see if he will give you some coverage in the next issue of the TDR.

Hey guys,
I am getting confused with the multiple threads. The Outlet Mall Truck dealership is one of several owned by the company where I work,(A Honda Dealership in Austin). The G. M. offered to participate when we were talking about Temple in Oct. If we can keep this thread open & make plans here I will be glad to talk to him regarding any changes. I will attend in any event.

RdRunnr, we moved the date up to Sept 23 due to the fact that the original date is in bow hunting season. we have sent a check in to reserve a large pavilion at Lake Belton in Temple for that day. As soon as this beomes final, I will post all the details. I don't know how to deal with having someone cater the event because it will be hard to know how many people will show up as this will be a free event. There is a large BBQ pit there and a resturant right next to the pavilion. The lake is only 10 miles from town with several fast food joints and grocery stores. Stay tuned for details.
