Hey you guys with the 3rd gens, where is a good place to put the painless wiring 7 circuit fuse panels like genos sells?? On my second gen there was room by the clutch master cylinder reservoir on the fire wall. Dads 06 doesn't look like there is enough room. Any place inside the cab under the dash?? I thought about attaching it to the lid on the power distribution panel on the driver's side inner fender well, but then every time we need to get in there, we would have to fight around all the wiring. Any ideas or better yet pictures. Thanks Phil

I put one on the firewall above the master cylinder (see RR) and I screwed one onto the steering column under the dash. Worked great for me. There should be similiar room in the 06 to mount in these location.

Hope that helps.

Good luck

I put mine on the pass side behind and below the battery (I got the waterproof one).

Nice to have some extra power.

Juan

I have an 06 Mega. I pulled the plastic panel off the dash that's under the steering column - it's quite easy to get off. There is lots of room there, and you only have to poke 2 wires out through the firewall when you mount it inside.

thanks for the replies guys, i am going to take a look today and decide where to put it. What are the differences between the waterproof and non waterproof, is it just the cover??

In that storage space under the middle section of the front seat. I never used that space in my '03; so it's now a dedicated spot for the aux fuse panel in my '06. Half the leads are under my dash just behind the pedals for easy access thru the firewall to anything that may go under the hood; the other half are left for interior power hookups -- presently using 3. CB, Gauges, Inverter.

This is what I did. waterproof 7 circuit unit. in front of the washer bottle in front of radiator support. mounted to the black support rail. this location allows the hood to close.

this is a ign. hot unit and i can not find a connection point. All of the fuses have trace voltage.

I had mine mounted there as well

I mounted a waterproof unit to the lid of the distribution box. The relay feed comes through the lid with sufficient slck to allow access to the box. I used a decent amount of RTV to seal the new box to the lid and Nylon screws to fasten it in place. Almost four years with this set up - no problems.
