First I want to thank all of you for your replies and then I wanted to just let you all know who I went to for service. I found a local service guy right here in good old west Michigan. Dustin Hawk has over 15 years rebuilding our beloved Dodge transmissions. What makes his company unique is that he invited me over to watch, learn and make decisions on my transmission as he rebuilds it right before me. So not only did I get a great learning experience but he showed me what was worn, what was not. By the way, after 230k my transmission was really in pretty good shape. In fact, after he first looked at my truck he called me to tell me it was fixed, a small part fell out that actuates the front band. However, after that many miles I knew it was time for a rebuild.
