I just got this from fedex and it has what looks like a pre set area for the egt, not drilled though on the 5-6 cylinder piece. But... it could also be a slug for strength. Suggestions?

If I remember correctly, the spot to drill is on the front section (I may be wrong), but it is a raised area with a dimple. That's where I drilled mine.

They provide a boss to drill near cylinders 3-4. That is where they suggest. I added a second one in the back down low.

Interesting set up How much difference do you see between the two locations? Curious...

That manifold (3 pc) is for a 2nd Gen truck. The one Scott (SRadke) posted is the one for a 3rd gen (2 pc). Unless you have twins or plan on re-doing your intake and exhaust piping, you may want to send it back before you tap any holes.

Very little diffrence. One is on an analog gauge, the other on my TST remote. 100° diffrence at most. Kinda depends what angle I look at the analog gauge lol :)

TX, you got the wrong manifold buddy.

Here's a pic of my ATS manifold with the EGT probe. Just ignore the missing nut on the turbo flange... ;) It's on the list of things to work on.

Paid under $400 for mine.

SRadke I assume you see the higher temps at the back 3 cylinders? BTW your manifold and turbo look purdy, more purdy than BStoekers ;)

Lokks like you still have the stock turbo. What difference, if any did you notice with the ATS? Any difference in temps, spin up, power? Do you tow? If so, how much weight?

Yep Vaughn, it's about the only purdy thing on the truck :D Thanks for the paint tip, if not for you mine would look just like Brad's in the photo above.

Dave, it's a little sanding and a couple good coates of POR-20 bright aluminum high temp paint. The paint holds up well but I'm starting to get a little rust showing through now at about 8 months. Oh well, I'll touch it up when I do the twins :D

As for temps, the back three run hotter but I don't know if it's due to lack of air or just the diffrence in the gauges. I supopse I could swap leads if I really wanted to know.

When Ken Jones installed my Edge Juice and Attitude, he drilled the probe down low where your 2nd one is, cause my existing pyro was drilled in the boss on top. I ran them both for a while, and the attitude was running 125* to 150* higher, so a couple weeks later we changed the probes, and the Attitude was running 125 to 150* higher. So on mine the lower rear one is showing the highest reading. I wish I'd painted mine like yours, it looks good!

Would anyone have a picture of a 2nd Gen, 24v ATS manifold with the probe installed? I think it goes on the flat half round spot by the turbo but would like to be sure before I do any drilling. Thanks in advance,

Jerry

98. 5 SLT. . Catcher, Comp, 4" exhaust, and more on the floor of the garage waiting to be installed.

That's what they are there for, but you can really put it anywhere you want.

I see anywhere from 120* to 180*F difference between the front three and back three. I assume the difference in probes account for a little of that, but on average you should see about a 100* to 120* difference between the front and back. Cylinder 5 and 6 get toasty... . not so much #4.
