Anybody that's installed a fuel pressure gauge on an 05 please advise where to install the sensor to monitor fuel pressure. I've got an isolator to mount in the engine compartment and originally thought I'd use a tapped banjo bolt from Genos garage, but when I visited Genos website I don't see one for my 05 CTD. Is there a different way or place to sense fuel pressure on an 05? Anybody got any good pictures of their underhood installation? I'd appreciate any guidance from you guys. Thanks... ... ... ... . I've been thinking of doing the same thing along with installing a transmission temp gauge. I think Geno's has a replacement fuel filter cap that has a tap for fuel pressure.

Please take pics and post them when you get done.

This is how mine is set up... . but I am running the electronic sender for the WesTach gauge with a 2 pin dis connect for unscrewing the cap. May be a bit more invlved for mech senders.

I have the Autometer Electronic Fuel Pressure guage. I replaced the banjo on the bottom of the fuel filter canister with a tapped banjo then screwed in the sensor. I used a little rectorseal to prevent fuel leaks.

everybody says tapping at the CP3 gives more accurate readings, that's where I tapped mine, it wasn't hard at all

got my stuff from Diesel Manor, they give you everything you need, 3 ft SS braided fuel line and banjo bolt, all the other hardware, etc

I'm sure there's lots of places to get the stuff, this worked good for me

There's pics of which bolt to tap in on the CP3 somewhere on here if you search long enough, I can't think of who posted them anymore

There are some problems with the Geno's fuel filter lid and getting the gauge to work correctly. I tapped at the CP3 with the bigger banjo bolts to eliminate any potential problems.

Could you expand on this in case I have to be on the look for any issues to which you refer. Are the problems related to using a mech sender in lieu of E sender?

Jason,

I'm in the process of installing a fuel pressure gauge on my 05 CTD and was wondering what kind of hose (brand and part number) and fittings did you use to connect your isolator to the CP3 banjo bolt? I'd appreciate any guidance you can provide as I'm having a heck of a time getting my isolator located and hooked up. Thanks Jason,... ... ... ... ... . I got all the fittings from Diesel Power Products to install my fuel gauge and isolator. Pics are in my readers rigs section, and I have had it on there for the last 3yrs with no problems or faulty readings. I tapped it at the CP3 end with the supplied banjo bolt. I installed the Glacier fuel pump (walbro) a few weeks ago and 22psi hasn't produced any problems.
