I'm looking to pick up an LS1 Z28 with a blown engine. Anybody have any idea where to look for something like this? I found one on Autotrader earlier this week that had "an engine noise" and was sold for $3k shortly before I called to ask about it. I've started searching ls1.com, ls1tech.com, ebay, etc. but am hoping someone might be able to point me to a sight that deals with cars with blown engines specifically?

Anyway, I'm hoping to drop in a low-compression motor with a single turbo, so if I can find one with an already blown motor for real cheap, then that'd be a big plus... Thanks.

Check out autotrader.com, they're one of the biggest. Also just the Sunday papers are a good source. Look in the "mechanics specials" type columns. You should be able to search papers online until your eyes are blurry... Hope this helps.

Try the places that sell old police cars, you would want a B4C, they are the police package Camaros should be available with high mileage for cheap. Hard to find but pretty cool also are the 1LE package Camaros, it was a special Camaro made for racing, '93 on LT1 cars had no AC, standard only, no power locks or windows, Koni shocks aluminum driveshaft and special brakes, not sure if the 1LE package was available with the LS1. I had a '95 1LE and it would run 14. 0 stock at 100mph, pretty fast back then, and that was spining through second and still post that time. I think they made less than 150 in '95, pretty rare car.
