July Gateway Chapter and GODA summer BBQ

If you don't have a reservation already for a motel for the Mopar show Patrick you won't get one now. Usually they have been booked real early and you will need to stay outside the area like York,Lancaster,Hershey etc etc etc.

Now if you wish to meet some of us there will be a few of us around the grounds. My truck will be in the show field in the 98 stock class(its usually on the hill) and there always is a few other roaming around with their cars or trucks.

There is always a Pre-Carlisle show at the Cumberland Valley Chrysler dealership on Thursday nite and it usually begins at 5pm. registration for this event is free and door prizes are given away.

You can't miss me as I have one of ICEMAN's TDR Graphic's on the rear windows... ... ... Andy

I am going to try and make this event... ... I will dyno if we can get a few of the hemi boys to go first, its always fun to watch their faces after a six cylinder diesel whoops their #'s.

I am going to try to go too. I have a big Silver ugly dirty 03 dodge with body damage, huge tires and 80K miles on it. and a TDR sticker. Say hi.

I feel sorry for people who drive Hemi's or really any gasoline truck. Or any gasoline vehicle in general but that's another story.

I'm thinking about going out on Saturday. Never been before - be about a 2-3 hour ride for me.

For those who have been - what time should I get there in the morning in order not to wait hours to get in!

Go nice and early, make a good day out of it, it'll be fun. I decided I'm just going to go for Saturday too probably. I'll probably show up at like 8am.

Having never been to this before - do we need to register our vehicles - the Carlisle website is a little confusing.

I would think all us MDTDR members might like to have our vehicles together? Sorry if this is a nittwitted question.

Swex - You have to register on the website. You need to have at least 30 members (I think, I can't rememebr) to have your own "section" with your own tent, etc. I tried to get enough people together but it wasn't happening.

The price rose from $35 to $45 (great... ) you put your year/make/model, and for club, put NONE. They'll put you with all the other Dodge trucks and we'll just have to find each other (I have a TDR sticker on mine).

Last year I think I got off the interstate around 7:30AM but it took about a 1/2 hour to get to the fair grounds. It's like one big parade to the fair grounds.

Yikes. I had planned on rolling off the interstate, as you say (coming out the PA turnpike) around 9 am, but then I have to get down there, and get my truck to wherever it's supposed to be.

I guess I'm not going to be able to sleep in on Saturday.

I've registered for the 2001 Stock class.

Hehehehehehehe.....

Whats up with that Ron,can't stand watching Smitter's wife and her bikini sunbathing under his air bagged truck all day??:D .

Those coming all weekend are usually in as early as they can be. Saturday is a PIA trying to roll in between 7-9am as everyone wants to be on the show-field for judging at the same time. Friday I usually slip in at 8am OK with little tie up. Saturday and Sunday(awards day)I am on the grounds by 6:30am at the latest. Takes me 2hrs to chat with the truck while giving it the final shine before I go wandering around. Saturday afternoon is the bikini contest and burnout contest and all judging ballots need to be in by 5pm.

Bring your walking shoes Scott as it will take about 2 hours to judge the classes in our assigned area.

Time for a nap, this computer is driving me bonkers and my butt is whipped from running out to Double S today and then to Jetpilot's... . See Ya all there... ..... Andy

I'm looking forward to it. I'm planning on an earlier start, should get there sometime between 8-8:30. My truck is reasonably clean - spent 40 minutes and $10. 00 in quarters at the wash on Monday, and STILL don't have all the road grime off. I'll give it a touch up Friday night. Problem is, my truck gets parked outside, so it is never going to win any detailing awards.
