Competition where to stay June 25&26 for dhra nationals?

I've never been to a sled pull or drag race for diesels and would really like to go to the nationals the 25&26 of june. I wanted to know if any of you know a hotel to stay at thats close to the raceway. I looked on the dhra web site and there's alot to chose from so I thought I'd ask you guys if you knew which were the closest and better ones to stay at. thanks! Mike

Lee's in in Plainfield is very nice but I doubt they have anything open anymore. .

Probably slim pickins at this point.

most rooms were booked atleast six months ago. But look at the site again and get as close to amerihost as you can. That is the party hotel where every thing happens at night.

If I can only be there for one night, is Saturday the night to be there?

yea either friday or saturday is good. most of the awsome night stuff happened friday last year because on saturday the cops came at like 11:30 and were like if you dont quit smokin tires and makin noise we are calling the govenor! we all just kinda laughed at them and so they claimed they were going to call the swat team also lol. but either night would be good if you can find a room... . we booked ours like 3-4 months after the nationals last year just to make shure we had a room.

I booked mine on Sunday night, 2 rooms on Saturday night (24th) at the Comfort Inn on the "good road". I even got her to knock 30 bucks off of each room! I sure hope that Saturday night doenst let me down out there.....
