Went to arrange for the dealer to put an EB in. The parts guy called to say that DC wouldn't ship him the kit for an '03. He's gonna get the kit from Cummins for me.

I thought we had a sticky thread or two going on this but I can't find it. Can somebody please provide the link(s)?

I want to a) check the history of the problem and DC's solution to make sure the warehouse isn't blowin' smoke and b) get the lowdown on the lineup of the clamps and wiring that I "think" was the root of the problem. Be handy to have for the tech and my own piece of mind. (I like this tech, he's done some good work for me before. My own state of mind is always questionable. )

Here's the Cliff Notes if you have an automatic:

1. '06 can get it

2. '05 may get it if we live long enough

3. Everyone else is hosed(or go aftermarket and be your own warranty station)

Jacobs for 05 6spd.

The JACOBS EB is already available for the 2005 with a 6 speed. So unless you die tomorrow you've lived long enough to have it. ;)

The Jacobs exhaust brake is available for ALL year 2nd and 3rd gen trucks with manual transmissions. Some of the earilier 2nd gens (12 valve I think) need to have the valve springs replaced with stiffer springs.

For anyone offering advice for automatic transmissions, note that the original post was from a member with a 6 speed. This is why we use signatures. Duh.

Guilty as charged :(

Thanks, all! Those are the threads I was looking for.

Klenger, I'm with you, I thought DC freed them up for sticks, what I found just surfin around is that Mopar dropped the part number for kits for 3Gs (BOTH stick and auto) until 04. 5 . Cummins has even updated their site to show N/A under the Mopar part number for 03s. Right next to it is Cummins' P/N, so that' what we're usin'.

Interesting. I suspect that Dodge dropped sales support for the older models because they are mostly interested in supporting sales for new vehicles.

Kinda sad, ain't it, that as long as these machines are made to run, that DC would drop parts before the third next model year is on the lots?

Again, thanks for your help.
