Where's the Correct Place to Drill a 325/610 Exhaust Manifold for Pyro Thermocouple?

My apologies for all of the recent 3rd Gen gauge posts . . . I'm just an 'ol 2nd Genner looking for advice on my soon-to-be delivered '05.



Here's My Question: I want to install my Isspro pyro thermocouple pre-turbo. Where's the CORRECT place on the exhaust manifold to drill and tap for the thermocouple?

BTW - ignore my sig, its for my tried & true 2nd Gen. Will update once the '05 arrives from Saltillo!

The exhaust manifold it's broken in to 2 sections 1,2,3,4 (front) and then 5,6 (back) on all 03 and up CTD. I would drill where 6 and 5 meet just above the turbo flange. That is where your temps will be the hottest.

it is broken up into 1-2-3 and 4-5-6... but 4 flows into 5 then down the drop... poor design :(
 
I put mine just aft of the #3 exhaust. That is where my DiPrico instructions showed in the pictures. I know it is not "ideal" but from the posts I have read concerning EGT's, mine have been the same as everyone else's. Just an example, Steady cruise at 70 MPH showing about 7 to 10 PSI of boost will run about 700 degrees. Towing the TT at 70 MPH with anywhere from 13 to 20 PSI will show EGT of 800 to 1150. The 800 is steady 70 on level highway with the 1150 on a hill and 20 to 22 PSI boost. Did not stay there long but that is where she peaked. Just my experience.
