I've got the diesel performance bug.

I'm currently running an 05 HO Dually with a controller box from SPDiesel (local boys in MD). I ran a 15. 0 in the 1/4 with this box, cheapy air filter, and 4 inch duals out a dual outlet muffler.

I have plans for a shift kit in the transmission which I hope will be enough to push the truck over the lip and into the 14s... . but I am also thinking about adding in either a downloader or another box for added performance since at the same time the truck needs tires and they will most likely be a little larger than stock which will slow me down in the 1/4.

Currently the truck doesn't smoke, gets 20 MPG unloaded on my daily 62 mile one way highway commute, and is reliable (asibe from the blown intecooler which the dealer fixed and replaced that plastic sided trash with an all aluminum unit). When stacking what criteria do you use to determine which ones will work properly with each other?

i think you better put more attention to your transmission than just a shift kit. A billet input shaft and good torque converter are a must if you want to start putting more power down. My stock transmission went pretty quick with just the standard program TST. i went with a full built transmission and couldn't be happier.
