Gonna need a 4" exhaust and not sure who sells them and which one is better and at a fairly good price. Also, what muffler or does it come with the kit. Thanx, reb.

There have been quite a few good things said about this exhaust system. I believe it comes with an Allied muffler.

Rip's 4" Exhaust

They were planning on doing some dyno testing with a variety of mufflers to see which works best. I think they were also going to try to get some sound clips of the different setups for comparison. Maybe someone else can chime in here and let us know more about the tests.

4" Exhaust

I've had the Jardine system on my truck since last July and really like it. It came with a Magnaflow muff and all the Hardware to install it. Sounds nice too! Don't know if they have a website but #800-934-3569. Good luck in your search for a system.

I'd also recomend Rips exhaust. I will be helping him make recordings of various mufflers for online sound clips, but I'm still tryin to figure out a good way to do so. Can anyone suggest a setup/microphone that would work well for recording thsese sound clips? Oo.

Can't do better for the product or service than Rip's exhaust. Love mine with the Allied muffler, nice deep tone. He is west coast, so freight will be less. Just MHO.

I really like my system from Rip. He welded everything solid and painted the welds too! The 5" stainless tip looks HUGE

Great service, honest guy.

That is a good price according to the site. So far I have no complaints about the Jardine. I could stand for it to be a little deeper sound but the wifey likes it so I am not gonna knock it.

Jardine

I ordered the Jaardine system and LOVE it. Throaty sound. Makes the Dodge sound like a higgh performance Barry White. :D :D :D :D :D

At least three vendors of 4" systems will be at May Madness, BD Power, Diesel Dynamics, and Pinnacle (Jardine) in alphabetical order. You might even win a system or get a deal on one :D Last year Peter of South Bend Clutch won the 4" system from Pinnacle, and he didn't even have a Ram to put it on

I'm looking for a 4" exhaust sytem (NOT stainless steel, too $$$)for a 2002 truck. Can anyone tell me which 4" system's tailpipe exit looks closest to the stock OEM tailpipe. I would like to retain the look of the OEM tailpipe. Ted (JRE) said his is probably the closest to matching the OEM tailpipe appearance since the JRE has a 2 piece tailpipe which can be adjusted to approximate the stock OEM exit angles.

Also, who has the thickest pipe? It was posted Rip's was 14 gauge, when I sent him a PM he said his was only 16 gauge (industry standard) and seriously doubted anyone uses the heavier 14 gauge tubing. Ted sent an e-mail stating his system is 14 gauge:confused:

I've tried to connect to the link you have for rip's, but it doesn't work. Let me know how to contact them and get to their website.

Thanks

1tuffram....

Ted is corrrect... . both the 14 ga. and OEM exit pipe.

Those were the same issues I had, and that's why I chose JRE, along with Ted's very patient and helpful guidance. I'd do it again.

Pics Anyone??

Does anyone have a some pics of the different exhaust systems installed?? I am really looking for the way the exhaust exits. . I like my stock bend in the pipe. Some of the 4in systems I have seen you can see most of the pipe after the axle (on a 4x4), unlike the stock system all is hidden except the final 4in piece. Just trying to get some ideas... thanks

Bryan

specifics.......

You've inspired my curiosity here. I've just gotten off the phone contacting 4 different tubing manufacturers asking each what is the actual wall thickness of 14 & 16 gauge tubing. I expected their answers to be more cut & dried that what I received. Surpisingly I received four different answers. The replies for 16 gauge tubing ranged from . 059-. 063. For 14 gauge the range was . 074-. 078. I then grabbed two random pieces of tubing off my shelf,& filed the ends to remove any imperfections. With my mic (Mitutoyo) I came up with dimensions between . 062& . 065. With out the careful filing it's easy to get dimensions up to . 090. Assuming the aluminizing process adds some wall thickness,my systems are clearly 16 gauge... ... ... Rip
