Which 5th wheel hitch would you buy???

I have a 2003 CTD short bed so i will need the slider type hitch so what is the general feedback on which one to buy.

I am interested in what people are using on the 3rd gens as well. By the way the search does not work too well right now as the forums are apparently not indexed with the new software yet.

Well I installed the Pullrite hitch which as far as I know is the only one that does not require drilling or welding. Look for the very detailed info from TFR member klenger. Mine does not slide but others have the pullrite that does.

I have the Pullrite Superglide. I wouldn't change a thing. I have no worries when I have to make a sharp turn. Worth every penny it cost. And yes, you don't have to drill the frame rails to install it. Another side benifit, it comes apart in pieces so that one person can remove it from the bed and it leaves only four holes where the mounting pins go through the bed to get to the rails.

Pullrite. Need I say more? Excellent quality, good customer service and tough as nails. So there!!!!!!!

You didn't say if you were wanting an automatic slider or a manual.

If you want an automatic. Get the pullrite superglide. End of story.

If you are like me, and dont want to spend that much, there are several manual sliders that dont require drilling or welding the frame.

I have a 24K Pull Rite automatic slider hitch on my 03 SB 3500. Works as advertised, appears to be an excellent product that does exactly what it is advertised to do. Cost a bunch, but you know the old saying. Think of the consequences if you hit the cab with the trailer. Others use the manual sliders, but for me the automatic slider is the only way to go. You (or a couple of buddies) can do the install and save some bucks.

I dont mean to hijack the thread but has anyone used a pullrite slider on a long bed??

reason I ask is a fithwheel I am looking at comes with 2 hitches both pullrite, one is regular and one is a slider. I would like to use the slider because when removed, it leaves the bed clean. any drawbacks??
