I was checking back and could not find any threads about air filters... just got the truck back from turbo cleaning, and dealer wanted to change air filter for $35. 00... If the K and N filter is an option now would be the time to purchase. Can't remember if this filter was a no-no on diesels. . I have one on every car in the family and have never been disappointed. If anyone has comments or is running one please post your thoughts... thank you!

Most users on this and other sites do not recommend using K&N filters for any application. Filters will not hold up to the demands of a diesel use.

I am using the AFE drop in air filter, this uses the stock air box.

Don't go w the K & N if you at all travel offroad. You'll find real fine dust in your intake b/w the filter and turbo. Don't ask me how I know. I replaced it right after I saw that, with an AFE drop in. No more dust.

BTW, I used the K&N clean/reoil stuff on my AFE, with good results. Just cuz I needed to clean/oil it that day, and Autozone etc only carries the K&N oil.

I do a lot of driving on dirt roads and the AFE didnt do very well for me at all. It let too much dust by for me. I put a dab of grease past the filter and it was covered in dirt in a short while. The stock filter would not have but a little dust compaired to the AFE. The oiled filters may be OK for highway driving but dirt road driving is a different story. Got a good deal on a couple AFE filters that havnt been used very much.
