Hey guys, its past time for a diff. fluid change. I was picking up my engine oil today and was going to get gear lube from my Amsoil guy. He said there were 3 different weights. I have Dana 60 front Spicer 70 rear, can I use the same in both and what weight do you recommend? I pull about 7,000 pounds max in the summer months. Should I plan on new gaskets? You wouldn't happen to know amounts needed would you? sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance:confused:

Looking in your sig I did not see any aftermarket differential covers. The Gaskets are up to you, most OEM covers are sealed with ATV sealant. Me, I would DX the gaskets and just use ATV. Also, the best (my the Book) way to do them is to clean both surfaces very well, make sure all the oil has stooped running out. A drill with a wire wheel will work great, just protect the gears from getting dirty. Wipe both surfaces (axle and cover) with clean rag and rubbing alcohol on there sealing surfaces. Apply the ATV to the cover, try to keep the beam uniform and go around each bolt hole, bead should be about 1/4" wide. Let the cover set for 20 minuets and then bolt it to the axle. Sung the bolts then torque to OEM specs. Wait at least 12 hours (24 is perferd) before you re-fill the rear end. top off with good quality gear oil like Amsoil series 2000 75W-140. Repeat the above steps in 30,000 miles, unless you drive into water.
