I am installing the Autometer Electronic and was wanting to put it pre-filter, in the banjo bolt. Which one do I need to buy with gaskets? I don't feel that I need them all or do I? Thanks. . B. J. Deal--------3dracer

3d, you only need 1 tapped bolt and 2 washers for FP connection. If you remote-mount your sender as everyone advises and I did, you'll need a hose barb fitting to thread into bolt, the correct length fuel line[2 feet is plenty] and some hose clamps. When you have the parts in front of you it makes more sense, your local NAPA etc. will have accessories and help. Consider going post filter to "see" what your injection pump is "seeing" . I just did this install so if I can help PM me. Have Fun, Jim G.

I Just finished this install as well, but I mounted the sender + tapped banjo directly to the outlet of the fuel filter. What is the reason for remote mounting the sender?? I apparently missed the boat!!

Engine vibration can damage the sender so that it doesn't work any more. It can also possibly even break it off and cause a leak / mandatory shutdown. At least, that is my understanding.

druth, HC nailed it. Im no expert but THE experts do agree Vibration will kill the sender, and pretty quickly too. Also the 45 degree direct mount fittings may fail [break] due to the vibration and weight stress. A remote mount is easy, have fun, Jim G. P. S. Westach recommends mounting the sender vertically [fuel line coming in from below] if possible. :)

I put a fuel pressure guage in my truck and did not use any bango bolts. Just before the fuel filter there is a pressure relief valve. I remove the insides of the valve like you do on a tire valves and installed a hose there. I then attached the sender unit. It has been there for about a month and no problems. It read 13psi at idle and 11psi at cruise. If there is a problem in that location I would like to know.

alaterreur, there's no problem with your choice of location. The only difference is that a post filter reading will be from 1-5 psi's lower than what you are seeing, depending on the condition of your fuel filter and your fueling needs.

Sky...

I bought mine used (about 3 months old) from blackcloud. He was selling his truck so I bought some of his.

I just need to get a banjo bolt. Thank you all. I am going to use the grease gun hose, from my local farm supply store. I "semi" understand what is going on here, but I think once I DO get everything in front of me I will see it. I will go post filter, that was a typo. Silly me. Any way thank you.
