Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) slight miss at idle

I am trying to decide which Westach combo boost gauge to get- the 35psi or the 50psi model. Currently my engine is stock. It is doubtful that I will ever do any modifications beyond a plate (maybe a 10 or 8, or possibly a 100) and maybe some 215 injectors. I'll probably never change to a larger turbo. It sorta make sense to go ahead and get the 60psi model just in case, but on the other hand it seems the 35psi gauge might be easier to read since the numbers are farther apart and I would be using more of the dial.

Help me make a decision.

I am using a 35, mostly because I like to watch the needle use the entire gauge, I would like a 40 though because the needle pegs at full boost.

I have read that a gauge will last longer if ran at half-scale, but I haven't noticed any ill effects with mine.

Danny,

Go for the 60. I have a 30 because I thought I would never get above that... . silly me, after just a few mods I can bury it instantly... now I have to upgrade.

I had the same problem as Jay. I could peg my 30# gauge that I had, with just the #10 plate. Have a 60 now. Hit 40# with my setup, currently.

git got it

I just got the 60psi guage from genosgarage and paied like $49 I think the 60psi was only like $2 more so I figured its always the best to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Thats why I got the 60psi autometer

I just placed an order with Geno's for the Westach 50psi boost/EGT gauge. Don't ya wish it worked like on the old Bugs Bunny cartoons? You know, Bugs pops an order in the mailbox, takes a couple of bites off his carrot, then here comes the mailman with his goodies. Total elapsed time: 5 seconds. :-laf

I hope I get it in time for a weekend install. Shoulda ordered yesterday. I'm such a procrastinator.
