I am going to be changing my Jacobs exhaust brake out for a Pac Brake this month and will need a new belt.

I looked and cannot find a Cummins part number, even on quickserve.

What brand seems to be the best? I don't mind sticking with MOPAR, just hate dealership prices... which is why I was trying to find the Cummins part number.

I will be removing the vacuum pump, so just a regular with a/c belt.

I still can't find a Cummins part number for no Jacobs brake, maybe they only made the one for the Jacobs Vacuum pump.

I went ahead and ordered the Gates HD belt.

That tool was kinda cool, but it didn't list what I needed. I tried the Dayco cross reference and came up with nothing. I would guess that MOPAR is the belt supplier for our trucks, and likely not as quality as the HD Gates... at least from some of the reviews I read.

Are you running a stock belt or does it need to run an air pump too? Here is a stock Cummins belt.

With air pump: https://www.genosgarage.com/product/belt-3947077/fan-belt Cummins belt

I use the HD Green Gates/Napa if stock: https://www.genosgarage.com/product/gates-k081264hd/fan-belt

They just don't do the description of the Green "Fleetrunner" belt justice.

The Green One is at least 1/4 thicker than the standard off the shelf belt and it can survive a AC clutch burn up in high temps. Only reason I replaced mine (nearly 50K on a green one) was exposure to that high temp isn't good for belt life combined with it's age.

Side by side you can feel and see the difference.

Getting ready to tackle this project this weekend.

Since I have a fluidampr I need to remove it to change the belt.

It's been a couple years, but I recall lots of talk about the damper bolts being TTY... yet in actual research they are not TTY.

Can anyone confirm or deny that?

Dodge FSM does not have you replace the bolts during removal/re-installation.

Quickserve Service Manual (QSB5.9 ESN) does not have you replace the bolts during removal/re-installation either.

Correct, not TTY.

Step torque at 65ft-lbs then 92ft-lbs and done.

No loctite needed, though medium strength blue doesn't hurt.

No need for new bolts either.
