I want to get a new charger and am confused as to what would best suit my needs (price and function)

Edge Jammer

BD

II SPS 62

ATS Aroura 2000

I dont know... ... ... Help me decide, remember Im a father and a husband so this needs to be as cost conscious as it can be. I just want more towing umph and more boost, not looking for 500 horse just a respectable 400. Any advice is appreciated.

which one can you get the best deal on? all are very good and should be what you want.

I know TDR member LOtero had a Jammer BB turbo and didn't care for it. He bought a II SPS 62 and seems to really like it. "I love mine" :-laf . Just go to the New Mexico members rigs spotted and he posted what he thought of the SPS 62. I made a lot of phone calls before I bought my turbo, talking to ATS and II about the Aurora 2000 and the SPS 62. I'm going to tow a lot, but want a turbo that can handle the TST with no problems. I feel a lot more comfortable pushing my SPS 62 that I know can handle 525 plus HP with out a doubt, than I would have doing it with the Aurora 2000. just my 0. 02...

Either get the SP62 or go for the SPS62, it all depends on were you want to be for max power but both are a real good turbo. I've got my eye on a SPS62 for a customer that Tow's heavy (26+K) and he's has about 450hp worth of fuel (12V) it will be interesting to see how it does as his stock 35 is sick.

im gonna chime in here as well... .

running the VACP3. 2 my temps get hot. . but i dont know JUST how hot as i have yet to install the probe for my pyro... i live in the barracks, not the easiest thing to do.

boost gauge is working fine and with the box on high and the new muffler i push 42lbs of boost... it might spike to 45 lbs every once in a while still, but not near as offten.

i would like to push 45lbs of boost MAX yet at a larger volume. basicaly a turbo that has an efficency range of 30 to 50 PSI, but run it at 40ish.

any input is great, truck is listed below and the EGT will be hooked up early next month before i tow my trailer to PA from AZ...

thanks

sorry for the post hijack, but its on the same line...

GW, I would think 62 would definately be a good starting point, just depends on how much power you want to end up with in the end.

give bret or brady a call, they will point you in the right direction, no b. s. just business... . 801-972-0476 ;)

Oh, yeah a SPS 62 would be right up your alley with your mods. I have about the same mods and I run 49 lbs of boost and let me tell you this sucker is smoooth. I know what you mean about being in the barracks. If it wasen't for the auto hobby shop here on MCAS Cheery Point I'd be screwed. I'd be in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

The Jammer BB works very well if you have the fueling to spool it. Third gens do that better than second gen 24 valves, or 12 valves with stock injectors. Mine worked great; it is best at 350-550 hp on a third gen.

I agree that HTTmakes some excellent turbos too. I am running their Pro Street 66 now.

would you advise the 12 or 14cm setup and why?

his month i have put over 4k into my truck... . :{ but its a good thing. new radio, new tires/rims, ill get my EGT and fuel pressure hooked up and be moving to PA soon... life doesnt get too much better...

anywho, as for power, im happy with the power the truck makes now, id just like to be able to put it to the ground a bit longer and with less smoke.

thanks again for the input.

You could probably get away with a 14 the 3rd gens spool things better. The larger housings have a tendancy to surge less, and will flow more air on the top.

I went with a HTT 62-14 in my 04 and liked it verry much and the way HTT turbo can also grow in size as you need more for a $150 bones, now that I have my new 06 I purchase the new HTT 62 witch spools faster and runs cooler than the one before no question HTT. Not saying any thing bad about the SPS just only delt with HTT, and with all the abuse of sled pulling and rec towing with a heavy foot my HTT was the only part that never failed. . 002
