My neighbor kid has a 97 1 ton dually with a five speed. The other day, the hub tore loose from the clutch disc. We pulled it apart and installed a 13" Southbend Con O clutch assembly. After installation, the transmission will not go into gear. We are thinking the clutch hydraulics are weak enough, it will not push the stronger pressure plate. If this thinking is correct, what should he replace the stock setup with? I found a Wagner assembly for $215 or the South Bend adjustable assembly for $315. Thanks for any input.

When I bought my last Southbend clutch Peter told me the stock hydraulics should work just fine, and they did for about 60k miles. When it quit working in TN I had a Southbend unit installed. It works too, and costs less than the Dodge part.
