Ive been trying to figure out which system is the best. I have a couple buddies that are wanting to get rid of the filters in the exhaust and for the most part dont want to have to buy a box if they can get a kit that is CEL free. But I would also like to know what is the best exhuast system and box kit to go with. I remeber the edge with the attitude monitor sounding like a pretty solid system but havent heard much feedback on it lately.

The last I heard none were cel free. I would like to know about the new smarty, cel free, void warranty? May be a box instead of a down loader would be less detectable if removed before service? Lots of Questions but no answers. I'm not looking for more power just my 2004 fuel milage back with reliability in my new 2009. I can not understand how burning all the extra fuel is helping our environment. We must be burning millions of extra barrels of oil that all have to be pumped, refined, shipped, ect.

The XRT from H&S and the Smarty with ME software are both code free to remove exhaust and EGR. With either one, you can use any exhaust for an 04. 5-07 5. 9.

There is still some debate as to which tuner is better. The only downside I see, is these are not just for removing the exhaust, they can also up the power quite a bit (175 horse). Reason that's a downside for me, I don't want any more power, just the mileage and better running engine and would like to not 100% void my engine warranty just yet.

I ran the edge juice for about 15000 miles to clear codes on start up, but is just for the egr code. I had an H & S fooler box I bought used. Most of the guys I know are using the resistors in the exhaust, I think it cost about $10. 00 to do and its code free. Tons of reading about it on cummins forum.

I now have the smarty s67me totally code free.

Doing deletes can be split into 2 parts. the cost of the exhaust parts and blocking plates are mostly the same.

If you need a warranty, let everything fall off and do a cheap resistor style delete and live with the cell light on.

If you don't need a warrant ( which any loader will void ) go with the XTR or smarty, both have great reviews

Smarty and an EGR Cooler delete, I had a BADP delete to get rid of the Cat/DPF but replaced the box with the Smarty. . No codes since!

Marco has the smarty s67 up to realease R13ME.

The R&D is paying hugh dividends on fuel economy and performance.

Please keep your S67 up to date for the best performance.

Thank you

I read the smarty only works on trucks built before march 2009, which my 2009 was. Should I not get the new flash that I believe came out this march? I would like to do the egr & dpf delete & have the option for a smarty at a later date. With only 4,000 mi. I'm not ready to give up the warranty.

Thanks for all the responses guys. Sorry Ive taken so long to respond, internet has been down at the house. Well if you were to use the smarty, do you just leave all the sensors for the exhaust unplugged or is there a type of dummy sensor you plug back in?

How do you tell when your truck was built?

Thanks

Maybe I'm completely wrong, however when considering warranty issues, doesn't the ECM keep track of regeneration cycles. If you have a DPF delete kit, then you will (from that point forward) never enter the regeneration cycle. Won't this look suspicious?

It would be nice if Bob Wagner, Marco, or just anyone that really knows the answer would address this post as many (myself included) would like to know if they should get the new flash released in March by Chrysler.

Or are the February 09 and March 09 ECM/PCM different so it wouldn't matter if you get the new flash.

So many question on these newer trucks:-{}although they have been out for 3 years they keep evolveing.
