I have ordered my new DTT to replace the tired old slipping transmission. I am going to upgrade my injectors to either EDM 1. 5's or 2. 5's. Bigger is always better but I don't want to upgrade my turbo from the HX 35. I want to know if the 2. 5's would cause egt problems. I won't tap the pump wire any time soon if at all. I tow a jeep and plan on a short bed camper eventually for a total weight of about 9000lbs. Thanks for the help. Oo.

I wouldn't go over the Mach 1. 6s with the stock turbo and towing. I've seen some folks also refer to the 1. 6 as a 1. perfect.

mcoleman,

Just curious, looking at your sig. do you tow with that combo? The reason I'm asking is I am upgrading my turbo to the Schwitzer type, like in the group buy, and want to possibly upgrade from what's in my sig. to EDM 3's or something similar in power. I tow a fairly heavy (12K +) toyhauler sometimes and I want to avoid temp issues. Any thoughts?

And I like the Jammer 1's that you put in old SNOKING, that and the Comp in EZ mode and HY35 set to 28 lbs, seems to keep EGTs down, builds nice power etc etc. Tows 11. 25K 5er really nicely. SNOKING

I tow every weekend with my combo and I use 3X3 on the drag comp. I've never weighed my trailer but it's a steel 3 horse slant load with a 6 foot short wall and sleeping area. My horses all weigh over 1000 pound but I have no idea on the trailer. I don't have any problems but I'm also always under 1700 feet on altitude. What size is this new Schwitzer turbo in regards to the compressor and exhaust housing size? Is it comparable to the HTB2 in size and spool-up? The HTB2 has been an awesome turbo for me but I'm planning on taking my power level on up into the mid to high 500s so I am upgrading to a bigger single.

I'll not go more then EDM 1. 5 with HX35 for towing. I do have them now with Edge EZ and I do have same turbo like you. I tow Weekend Warrior FB26 10000# loaded, great performance no problem, but I need to watch my EGT gauge when go fast uphill, eazy to go over 1300 F, which was impossible to do before with 275's in it. But still I go much faster uphill with edm's even, if I need to be eazy on the throttle.

m :cool:

Mach 2. 4s can be run with the stock turbo if you are willing to drive by the pyro occasionally. 2. 5s and up are discouraged with stock charger.

Personally, I'd go for 1. 5s and take the great MPG as bonus.

There is only a 20 HP difference between the 1. 5 and the 2. 0's. Is there much of a difference between the 1. 5 and the 1. 6 or even up to the 2, 2. 4 and 2. 5 in mileage/power. 90% of my driving is at sea level and empty. I don't mind driving by the pyro when necessary to gain some extra power for a minimal change in mileage. I don't want to end up with excessive smoke and heat wishing I went with smaller injectors :( or on the other end plenty cool wishing for the larger injectors and more power. :{

I just got done installing a set of Mach 4's in my truck :eek:

These new injector do simply smoke less and egts are similar to the smaller injectors.

mores testing this afternoon :-laf

Oh Marco... :cool:

Bob, are you saying the new Mach 4's smoke less than the 2. 5's you took out!? :eek: I've really loved my 1. 5's but you've got me slipping on that slippery slope again... . :-laf

Yes they do by a longshot. I am not sure what Don~ is doing but these injectors should get me too my goal of 400HP without a wire tap.

I only have a 75 miles on these injectors and I am amazed at the smoke and egt level of this size injector.

I was darn happy with my set up before, but once the dyno numbers were less than I had hoped for it was :{

But now I am all smiles, how to dyno these in the next week or so.

Like they say " who greased my boots" :-laf it's a very slippery slope :D

Bob, you might want to talk to Evan Beck over at DDP... last I heard he was inching up on 500rwhp without tapping the wire.
